Take this to mean the pathetic 2 runs they scored in the home opener today against ancient Jamie Moyer, or the 2 games they dropped to ATL this weekend. Either way the result is the same, it stinks.
On a positive note: Mets 2B Luis Castillo left after the fourth with soreness in his surgically repaired right knee. I'm not sure I could tell the difference between a healthy and injured Castillo, they both seem to limp and lumber around.

2 points from yesterday: first, at least Heilman may have knocked out Rollins with those stupid pickoff attempts, and second, how can they keep giving Utley 1st of HBP's? The freakin guy stands in the plate, makes no effort to avoid the pitch, and even leans into them...can someone please throw a pitch that'll "discourage" this behavior? Hmmm, I think I finally found a use for Burgos...
Speaking of HBP, I was watching the braves game the other day and the braves announcers made an interesting point. The mets have never ONCE hit chipper jones. That is an amazing stat to me, considering how frequently we face him, and how much he owns us. You'd think one time pedro or someone would've beaned him. This team is fairly soft though. Now that PLD is gone there are no scrappers.
Mets better find some offense against these pathetic philly pitchers soon or this season is going nowhere.
