Brew crew

Brewers heading into town this weekend... As Post points out (copied below), pitching matchup wouldn't seem to be the best. Hopefully Sosa and Perez keep stepping up..

Tonight the Brewers will throw righty Jeff Suppan, who was last season's NLCS MVP with the Cardinals. Suppan is 5-2 with a 2.63 ERA, and he goes against Mets righty Jorge Sosa, who had an eye-opening first start with the Mets on Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Tomorrow, Brewers ace righty Ben Sheets is on the hill against Mike Pelfrey, who's 0-4 with a 6.39 ERA and may be in trouble in the rotation when Orlando Hernandez returns from the disabled list. On Sunday, Oliver Perez goes against lefty Chris Capuano, who's 5-0 with a 2.31 ERA.

Well, the Brewers didn't exactly get the toughest draw: Sosa, Pelfrey, and Perez. Chances are that none of those three would be in our top three come playoff time.

Still...if the Mets drop two of three at home that won't stop Post and News from running a spate of "Mets need to make some moves if they're going to catch the Brewers before the playoffs."

Well, the Beermen got a taste of what real baseball is like tonight.
It's easy to put up big numbers in the NL Central but don't bring that soft stuff to the East!
Our 4th (or 5th) starter owned them tonight and thumped one of their top guns.
DC Guarantee: the Schmetties and Los Bravos will both finish with better records than the winner of the West and both may even top the Central champ (one caveat--if the rest of the division is gonna continue to roll over, the Brewbies may get to pad their record enough to avoid this).

Where do I keep the hundreds?

Paulie! Get the car ready. We're going to Atlantic City. Don't take the causeway.
