Great

Nice to see barry zito, he of the 4-5 record and 4.41 ERA, making an ass of our anemic lineup. Seriously, can this team score any runs other than when: (a) opposing pitcher balks twice in an inning, or (b) opposing team commits several errors in the game, such as throwing the ball off their shoe while falling backwards?

On the upside, Mota looked great.

That is definitely huge.. Per my earlier post, i hope this means we can give the boot to sele or blowenweis.

You just knew Willie was going to use Mota last night, might as well stick him in and see what you've got. And what we've got looks solid. Mota - Smith - Feliciano - Wagner. Is Duaner back this season at all or no way?

Mets offense is offensive. I still say until they learn situational hitting, they will not manufacture enough runs to beat good teams. Could jose maybe realize that 50 million pop flys in a row suggests it's time to level out your swing and raise your bat height slightly?

Here's a truly shocking quote from NYPost:

Bonds followed with a sharp liner to shallow center, a ball Beltran didn't dive for but played in front of him.

What's this about Beltran not laying out to make a catch and try to minimize opposing baserunners in a tight game? That's so unlike him...

Bad news: we sent down Burgos, so Sele and Schoenweiss are still around to haunt you.
