When will he listen
Omar, if you want to turn the Mets into a team worthy of their enormous payroll next year, BEEF UP THE BULLPEN. I'm not sure how many times we need to make the point for him to listen, but with all the blown saves they've had this year, especially the ones where we gave up 3 or more runs to blow the lead, it is time to fix it. There's going to be a lot of spots to replace, since Sanchez, Wagner, Heilman, Feliciano and Smith all are useless. But that's what it's going to take. A wholesale replacement.

Will he listen? What choice does he have?
His closer blew out his arm and his career (at least with the Mets) is over.
Heilman is now a long man--IF he can get himself turned around, or else he might not be in baseball.
Duaner deserves another year to get some arm strength back, but is still a question mark.
So...the Mets currently don't have an 8th inning, OR a 9th inning guy in the pen.
Don't think Omar should get mad props for "listening" and signing at least two big ticket relievers this offseason--he has no other choice. Unless, that is, the Mets are planning on going with Kunz and/or Parnell, which I can't reall evaluate without having seen them much.
This crew is as bad a bullpen as I've ever seen. I'm trying to think back to some of the real catastrophes in the past, but I don't think any Met pen I can remember gave up as many large leads as this one.
