Guess who's #1 in NL with 34 RBIs right now?
A: The x-man, xavier nady. He's also got the 5th best BA in NL.
Pretty surprising, considering how bad the pirates are.

That guy sucks, though ;)
Speaking of another statement I may have to eat, Carlos Gomez just became the first Twin to hit for the cycle in 22 years.
Perhaps I underestimated his greatness a bit prematurely??
Greatness? Just like the immortal Alex Ochoa?
I believe the two names you're looking for are Gregg Jefferies and Jay Payton (he of the 5-tool all-star notoriety).
Ochoa actually cycled, though...and Payton has turned himself into a serviceable player.
Just for the record, I thought X-Man was fine during his Met tenure, but I wasn't a big fan or anything. I thought the Hernandez/Perez deal made perfect sense at the time.
It does seem like Xavier's off to something of a breakout year so far, though.
I was not a huge fan of xavier's as you know, for the simple reason that his splits at the time were horrible. He had a solid BA and HRs when there was no one on base and 0 outs, but when we needed him to be clutch his numbers were atrocious. I think at one point he was like 1 for 20 with RISP. Certainly his numbers this year, if they hold up, would be welcome on almost any team.
