Step up

It's time for players who want to make the postseason roster to step up and earn it. Unfortunately seems like the offense, starting pitching, and relief pitching have all mailed it in for the last week. It will be interesting to see who on the pitching staff really steps up and stands out down the stretch.

Looks like Mets stepped up and won last night, nice effort. Mixed performance from Perez - impressive # of strikeouts, but still gave up 4 runs and threw 101 pitches in only 5 innings.

Nice to see Wagner nearly on cruise control as we head toward playoffs..

11 k's in 5 innings--no wonder Perez threw 100+ pitches.

It's nice to see them racking up the hits again but they've gotta start driving those runs in...

Runs will be key: assuming we face Tigers, Twins, or ChiSox in WS, we will not be able to match their pitching. So we'll need to win by our lineup. If we face Janks, I think our teams are more evenly matched in terms of pitching and offense.

Putting Perez in the rotation is a little like marrying Sharon Stone. At first glance, it looks like you won the lottery (with his stuff, and her, uh, stuff). Until you have to live with the unpredictability and general schizo-ness day-in and day-out (or start after start).
