So Willie has come right out and disputed Omar's version of events. According to Willie he was under the impression from Omar's comments on Sunday that he was safe for now but two of his coaches were going to get axed. He says he was stunned he was cut and he deserved better.
I wish the Mets had a real front office instead of a bunch of no-talent ass clowns.

On a separate note, apparently the Phillies are beatable as the Sox just took 2 of 3 from them.
And apparently you also can win with several starters out of the lineup as the sox had no manny, no ortiz, and no youkilis.
And apparently if you have actual talent and coaches you can properly insert AAA players into your team, as Justin Masterson won and is now 4-1 w/3.00 ERA and 1.08 WHIP.
And the plot thickens, with Willie now believing that Manuel was undermining to upper mgmt all along..
I was wondering how that was going to play out.
A far cry from Jerry's, "Willie would have done the same thing in my position."
Truth be told, I don't know if Willie would have or not, but you don't tell the guy who's girlfriend you just stole, "you understand, she's hot--you'd have done the same thing."
BTW, I'm not sure what to make of the way many of the players seem to be reacting, including Wright. No one seems particularly torn up that Willie is gone, and they even seem positive about Manuel. I realize that at least part of this is professionalism: the fact is that Willie is gone and Manuel is in, and the players publicly have to accept that and act accordingly. But some of the quotes seem to go beyond what I think would be required of them, and almost seem to hint that they are happy to see willie gone. Maybe it's less Willie and more the media circus that they are glad is gone, but either way it seems no strong love lost for willie.
Oh, I completely agree. I think the players are universally happy to have this soap opera behind them, and I think most of them seem happy to replace Willie on the merits.
I wasn't just joking in the original post when I said the Mets found their man. I'm sure having someone who "relates to the players" will not hurt.
Whether "relating" means that Jerry will get enigmatic performers to perform consistently is an open question. You could say I'm a skeptic.
