So Manuel's only been on the job a week and already he's made several 'notable' comments. This one is just plain funny:
Manuel also invoked NFL coach Bill Parcells' infamous reference to then-Patriot receiver Terry Glenn as "she" instead of "he" by using the same term for Reyes.
"She acted up with me, and she had a day off," Manuel said of Reyes.
Talk about making it clear who's running the team! I like it, I'm glad someone is willing to lay down the law with Reyes. It's a necessary action for his continued growth and improvement, and I've been calling for it for a long time now.

BTW, Drudge has a link up to Manuel's comments that the Mets fans are manure.. Second time in a week he's linked to Manuel's comments. A lot of other sports personnel make more outrageous comments yet he doesn't usually post them, wonder if he's a Metties fan?
The confusing part about the "she" comment is that "she" hasn't had a day off since the incident, and Manuel's taken some criticism on that point. Not sure if we got this quote in full context.
I wonder if he's referring to that game as the "day off", since he was pulled in the first inning.
That's pretty funny, if that's what he meant. Because Terry Glenn got called "she" for claiming BS injuries that he couldn't pay through. Jose's getting called "she" for trying to play through an injury?
