Whadya know, that makes for a .500 win percentage.

Also .500: the Mets under Manuel with a 6-6 record.
The numbers don't lie. If it walks like a .500 team, smells like a .500 team, and plays like a .500 team, it is a .500 team.
Technically, they swept the first series and lost the Shea series...
Nice to see Churchie back and Ollie continuing his dominance of the Yanks. Think any AL teams may be interested in Perez given his career #'s against the Janks?
The red sox are the logical choice. Biggest rival of Jankees, have the budget, and will need pitching since Schilling's future is unclear and Wakefield is getting up there.
Think we could pry away Youkilis?
I'd say almost no chance, unless they can't tolerate his personality in the clubhouse. His batting and fielding are awesome and I doubt they could replace that, so I can't see a swap with perez unless we offer a lot more. That said, apparently his personality grates some of the players, as he and Manny almost came to blows a few weeks ago. Specifically they feel that many times he seems to be a bit selfish, and they are tired of him slamming helmets and bats around when he has a bad at-bat.
Same reason we parted with Jeff Kent. That worked out well.
