Teixeira

What would you be willing to give up for Teixeira? Better start thinking about it if you're Omar Minaya, since Rangers are apparently seriously looking to move him. Maybe we could set up a 3-way trade, where someone else takes Delgado, and we each give Texas a prospect in return. I'd be willing to put any of the following players on the block: Carp, Heilman, and probably Pelfrey.

Apparently the Yanks have been going after him hard, as they have a definite need at 1B. So you're going to have to pay top dollar for him.

Would the Janks take on Delgado? Doubt it.

Also, I think Delgado has a no-trade.

I know the Yanks have "unlimited" cash, but I wonder if they really are going to pay Teixeira and A-rod what both are expected to make over the next 5 years..

Not to mention, the Yankees will desperately need money to pick up pitchers in the offseason.

When I said "top dollar," I actually meant to say, "the asking price will be high." I'm not talking about the cash. I mean the Yanks have the young arms to throw at Texas. Hughes and Chamberlain are both more highly regarded than any arms in the Met system right now.
