At the All-Star break we're only 3.5 games back. Not bad, but more a product of how poor the NL East is. Consider this: if we were in the AL Central we'd be 7 games back; in the NL Central or AL West we'd be ~9 games back; and in the AL East a whopping 11.5 games back.
At the same time, we'd be in first place by 0.5 game in the NL West. That division is a disgrace.

My bad, for some reason I thought all-star game was this week, not next week. I feel like such a D-rod.
BTW, here's something interesting. Since Manuel took over as Mets manager, the Mets have played a ridiculously consistent .500 ball. More specifically, they have won one and lost one out of EVERY two games they've played. Check it out:
L/W/ W/L/ W/L/ L/W/ W/L/ L/W/ L/W/ L/W/ L/W/ W/?
If the trend continues, it means a loss tonight.
A trend buster! 2-over .500! Break up the Mets!
Luckily we built up that 9 run lead.
It was just enough.
They surely did all they could to puke up a NINE RUN LEAD, didn't they? What an absolute joke.
Billy Wagner.....is not good.
3 out of 4 from philthies, however, is good.
