Two things: first, Pelf just took NL player of the week honors for his awesome last two starts where gave up 0 walks and 0 runs.
Second, Manuel is definitely calling people out in media, an interesting change from willie. A few days ago he basically lobbed one right at Castillo:
Jerry Manuel continues to make it clear that Luis Castillo won't have the starting job at second base waiting for him when he comes off the disabled list.
Manuel...indicated the oft-injured Castillo could be on the outside looking in once his strained left hip flexor heals.
"When the time comes, we'll make a decision on that and see how it fits," Manuel said before last night's 7-0 win over the Rockies. "We're really playing well at that position - I mean, very well. It's going to be a tough one."
