Mets must find a way to take 2 of 3 from braves this week. I don't care that we're facing smoltz and hudson, they must find a way.
Willie must hate glavine. I first suspected it when he crapped all over what 300 wins would mean, but it's very obvious by the fact that he just put mota into the game. If you didn't hate glavine, why else would you do that???

Mets bats, especially Reyes, really could've done more with runners on tonight.. Yet another game with a ton of stranded runners. Throw Delgado anything on inside half of plate and you've pretty much got yourself an automatic out.
On the other hand, how good is Milledge looking at the plate? The thing I like most is he is showing a LOT more patience at the plate this year. He's not hacking at garbage - he's already showing the maturity to wait for his pitch, and not be afraid to take a strike or two along the way. His speed and bat are looking good. D is still a bit raw compared to what I expected based on all the hype, but I'm assuming that will come around..
I couldn't have posted at a better time. Apparently mets convened in the dugout after the 7th inning, read this blog, and decided to start hitting. Delgado ripped a nice double to the gap.
Thanks for sleeping on the job, SHK. They read this blog between every inning, waiting for your instructions. You could have told them to hit in the 3rd and saved us all a lot of aggravation...
Oh, and with Perez/Duque/Maine going for the Metties, we have our top 3 starters out there for this series as well. The team that wins this series will get a big boost, no doubt, and it's going to be a lot of fun to see how Perez and Maine respond to big matchups in a real pennant-chase type series.
That said, if we lost 2 out of 3, it would be disappointing, but not fatal. We'd still have a 3.5 game lead in the division, which is around where we've been the last few weeks.
Getting swept could rattle the team's confidence and catapult the Braves into a tie for first. That would be a major problem.
