According to his Twitter feed, Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post reports, Francisco Rodriguez collapsed outside the visitors clubhouse at Fenway Park due to back spasms and EMTs have been called to assist.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Jerry Manuel said Rodriguez was unavailable for tonight’s game after experiencing back spasms during batting practice.

Seems like K-rod is ok, which is good b/c I'm not sure about Putz.
Redding's an interesting guy. I hadn't seen him pitch before, and I was surprised that he actually seemed to have some reasonable pitches. Poor placement on a few cost him big time, but otherwise I got the sense that he might be a workable 5th starter.
Injuries continue to kill the Mets. You know Beltran is going down for at least a week every year with sore knee/quad, and Delgado was guaranteed to be injured for at least a few weeks. But I just continue to get the sense that the Mets have a more injured team than average. Either Omar is not taking player reliability into consideration when picking up players, or we have one of the worst training/conditioning coaches.

The former, I'd say. We all knew the risks of building a team around a nucleus of Reyes and Wright, when Reyes proved so fragile early in his career, and weighs a buck fifty soaking wet. You just have to figure that with as much as he runs, he's going to break down sooner than most players.
Beltran's knees always seem to bother him, and Delgado's just getting old. I don't remember him having injury problems per se, but you have to figure he's going to start breaking down in his late 30s.
But then again, this was exactly what I feared last year when Delgado turned it on--we'd pick up his option. And of course, I think we all conceded that after Delgado's second half last year, Omar didn't really have a choice.
