Oliver Perez

When being that bad means you must really have to work at it.

I think I'm finally totally comfortable with the idea of trading Reyes. As great as he is when he's on, his long stretches of being off are killers. He is too inconsistent to ever be a top tier player.

I'm comfortable with trading anyone on this team. No sacred cows. And if Delgado can't play at a high level this season, we might think about trading for prospects. Just kidding.

Anyway, I'd prefer to give things another month to come together before we started trading core pieces, but if things haven't improved by that point (i.e., if we aren't a few games over .500 and getting consistent quality starts [6+ IP 3ERs] from out #2-#4 starters, it's time to start looking to improve from without).

Boy would a sparkplug like Eckstein have been useful for this team. We need some gritty players who like to chew tobacco, charge the mound, and don't take losing lying down.

Can't we bring in Knight, Mitchell, Straw, Wally and Nails as "attitude consultants" or something?
