Hmmm, seems to me like he is saying it's somebody's fault they lost - namely, the pitchers.

Valentin's quote is obviously a deflection from the fact that is was his error that got the rally going for the Bravos in the 8th.

Like, I pick up the picthers with my hitting. Why couldn't they pick up my crappy defense?
