Looks like we'll be promoting from within...

...when Green and Alou hang it up/leave town.

Milledge is focused down at AAA, just had a 4-for-4 night, and is killing the ball over the past week.

Carlos Gomez is going absolutely bezerk at AA Binghamton. If you can hit .386 at AA, and are supposedly faster than Reyes, that sounds like a combination worthy of a call-up at some point.

F-Mart is improving steadily as well. If Martinez keeps improving, that could free us up to trade Milledge this season.

Milledge and Gomez are going nowhere fast if Alou and Green keep up their improbable performances!

Three great things about Marlins series:
1. Beat the snot out of D-train.
2. Both starters did their jobs and went 7+ innings, so bullpen is well-rested for Los Bravos.
3. Willie was able to shuffle lineup and get great results. Castro, in particular, is doing a great job as backup.

These #s are just incredible. Where is the weak spot in the lineup???
J Reyes .356
C Beltran .351
M Alou .367
D Wright .327
S Green RF .321
R Castro C .357
J Valentin .298
E Chavez .300

I'll tell you where the weak spot is--right in the middle. I noticed you failed to include Delgado in the list (who's as cold as an Arctic night right now) and Wright has all of 4 RBI. I know Davey's putting up a nice average and continuing his march toward Dimaggioland, but his hits never come with men in scoring position.

His claim is that right now he's "seeing the ball well every other at bat" but it would be a little more reassuring if they were the at bats where he can produce runs...

Definitely passed over Delgado's anemic average. I was hoping it was just cold weather and Fla would help out, but he's definitely in a funk. The upside is Alou and Green's presence has made up for it.

If he and Wright don't turn it around in a few weeks, they may need to shuffle the order a bit. Maybe swap Alou and Wright. Or put Alou 4, Delgado 5, Wright 6.

One thing's for sure: Damion Easley blows.
