- “I don’t see how he can come back,” one respected Jets veteran said. Is that the majority opinion in the locker room? “Yes,” the veteran said.
- There are going to be some unhappy players if he’s back. “His practice habits were terrible,” the source said. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”
- Holmes’ antics have been going on all year but exploded in Miami when he pouted during the game, ignored Sanchez in the huddle and infuriated his teammates. “Go home. Go to the sidelines,” one player yelled at him.

The issues popped up in October when Holmes and Derrick Mason, who was cut, criticized the offensive line and Sanchez. That led to a fight in the media between Holmes and Moore. Ryan said he thought that was a dead issue. “I thought we were past all that,” said Ryan.“I mean, I did, and then obviously some things came up and we were not as close of a football team as I thought we were.”Rex thought they were past it because he cried in front of the team and begged them for unity? That he was so completely wrong has been laid bare for the world to see. As for the players, they'll tell you the truth:
Jets guard Matt Slauson said the finger-pointing fractured the team. “That kind of stuff destroys teams,” Slauson said. “That’s Football 101. You don’t call out your teammates. I mean, you do. But not like that.”I thought we were past all that, Matt. Who says you can't quit on your teammates? Belittle them for making you come to extra practice sessions because they want to, you know, win? Mope around on the field because your stat line isn't being filled out, when the season is on the line? C'mon Matt, I said we were past all that.
Gary Myers of the Daily News summed it up best: "Ryan is to blame on many levels. He’s so enamored of his people skills that he believes he can coach anybody." Wake up and smell the coffee, Rex. You can't make peace between this guy and him teammates. This guy is a cancer. He needs to go. Allowing this to go on as long as it has shows that you're totally disconnected from your team. Allowing it to drag into next year would be actively participating in the team's further demise.
Here's hoping all the "peace making talk" is just a front. That they're trying to save face and get a trade out of this situation. But if they think this will all be forgotten come camp, the Jets are out of their minds. The team won't forget. The fans won't forget. Here's hoping that Woody won't forget, if Rex or T need to be held to account.

You can't pay a guy with this track record that kind of money... This is coming from a Steeler fan who acknowledges that XLIII was won i part by an amazing catch by Holmes... even while that final drive was going and Ben rushing to the line, Holmes continued to do that first down swag where he drops the ball... eating up precious seconds... Just a little timeline:
Holmes has acknowledged selling drugs on the street corner of his hometown of Belle Glade, Florida as a teenager; he says that his mother's influence and a desire to play professional football made him decide to stop.[13]
Holmes was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida on May 27, 2006 for disorderly conduct.[14] Charges were subsequently dropped after Holmes paid a fine. Holmes was arrested for a second time on June 18, 2006 for domestic violence and assault in Columbus, Ohio.[15]
On July 7, 2006, Holmes appeared in Franklin County Court in Columbus, Ohio for both a pre-trial hearing regarding the domestic case and a hearing regarding the traffic ticket. He pled no contest to the traffic ticket and agreed to pay a fine. While Lashae Boone, the mother of Holmes' daughter and the victim in the assault case, requested that the domestic violence and assault charges be dropped, the prosecutor refused. Boone and their daughter accompanied Holmes to court. The charges were later dropped.[16]
On October 23, 2008, Holmes was arrested in Pittsburgh and cited by officers for possession of marijuana.[17][18] He released an apology after missing a game, stating that he wished to "focus all of [his] efforts on helping our team win on the field and achieve its ultimate goal."[19]
On March 24, 2010, Anshonae Mills filed a lawsuit against Holmes over a March 7 incident in which she alleges Holmes threw a glass at her in an Orlando nightclub, resulting in a cut above her eye. Initially, Mills did not pursue charges, claiming Holmes and the police intimidated her into it, but the case has been reopened. Subsequently, after a Twitter comment criticizing the nightclub incident, Holmes told the follower to "kill urself." He later Tweeted it was time to "wake n bake," a reference to marijuana.[20] Holmes alleges his account was hacked and it was not him making the comments.[21]
On April 29, 2010, according to a report filed by authorities at Pittsburgh International Airport, a flight attendant told police that Holmes wouldn't turn off his iPod when requested and asked that officers speak to him. Holmes got off the Colgan Air flight and spoke to the officers, who reminded him to comply with regulations, but did not charge the wide receiver with anything. Holmes later talked to Jets head coach Rex Ryan about the incident.[22]

As I said a long time ago, all you need to know about his character is that every time he gets a first down, he does that douchey ball drop thing. There was one game where the jets offense was getting killed, he'd done nothing, and he finally got a meaingless first down. Despite the non-event that was his catch, he still dropped the ball like he'd just made the greatest play ever. Meanwhile, he'd failed to deliver a TD earlier. Total d-bag.
Oh come on. He's not that bad. Sure he scored a touch down in the eagles game and then taunted them by doing there own flapping wing endzone celebration which intern got them an unsportsmanlike flag, but come on it wasn't like they were down more then 2 touchdowns..... Oh wait they were. I retract my previous statement. He is a douche
On a happier note. New York Met fans our prayers have been answered. Huge infielder signing. Omar Quintanilla if finally ours. Sure you might look at his 50 game suspension last year for breaking the drug "rules". But I'm sure his career batting average of 213 CLEARLY makes up for last years accidental positive test
