Pelfrey is 0-3 with a 7.97 ERA in five spring starts. He has allowed eight home runs in 20 1/3 Grapefruit League innings.
Perez is 0-1 with an 8.66 ERA in 17 2/3 innings spanning five starts. His velocity registered only 86 mph to 88 mph Tuesday against the Cardinals.
That's gonna leave a mark.
Projected rotation is now Santana, Maine, Niese, Pelf, then Perez.

75 wins will be an achievement with this rotation.
The Jets beating the Chargers at SD was an achievement. The Mets posting 75 wins will be nothing short of miraculous.

Season starting with Jose Jose Jose, Beltran, and now D. Murphy on DL.
OK, I grant you that, but--- we have Jacobs, Gary Matthews Jr., and [insert SS here].
What's the problem?
And FWIW, that 8.66 was a strong 8.66. He got the key outs to keep it under 10.
Plus, he's throwing strikes. Why you gotta be a hater and always focus on the negative stuff, like high ERA?
BTW, the numbers for Maine and Santana this spring aren't exactly exciting:
Maine: 1-3, 7.88 ERA, 8 Ks, 10 BBs
Santana: 0-2, 6.75 ERA, 10 Ks, 3 BBs
I'm not worried about Johan, he's claiming to be much improved since the surgery and I'm sure he'll be solid. Can't say the same about Maine though.
So basically our originally projected 2-3-4 in rotation (Pelf, Maine, Perez) all look atrocious. Luckily we have a monster lineup and a small park at Citi so we should be able to crank out 5+ runs per game. As fredo would say, heh heh heh.
