Hey, SHK--

Have you come in from your ledge yet?

Gues you can finally get some sleep--Sox are done, Brady's on the shelf, J-E-T-S S-U-C-K...oops, looks like you've still got issues to gripe about.

Oh, well.

Next time I'll be paying attention to baseball will be once the Hot Stove League starts (the best time of year for baseball--the anticipation of what could be always trumps what actually happens...).

It was a nail-biter, but looks like we're ok!

Unfortunately Pats picked up a big win last night, but I still think they're not a threat to win superbowl. Jets problem is simple (and has been for a few years): fire their offensive coordinator Schottenheimer. He SUCKS. He is too busy trying to come up with cute plays, rather than just playing to the team's strengths. Plus, I don't know why Favre insists on holding the ball for 15 seconds before throwing. It's like he refuses to throw a quick slant; if the play doesn't air the ball out at least 20+ yards he's not interested.

I will have a hard time watching the Mets next year unless they make some big changes in the offseason. In particular, I'd like to see at least one of Beltran or Reyes gone, and a top-tier starting pitcher in his place.

I don't know if you guys saw the rumor of Beltran for Cano, which would include other pieces as well.

This would solve our 2B dilemma and open CF for F Mart. Murphy could play his natural 3B and move D Wright to LF?

Just a thought.

That's great--let's trade for a guy who's barely adequate defensively and has a long history of being a slacker...just what we need...

Cano is extremely overrated and would be nothing but detrimental on this team given our current attitude problems.

I'd rather we trade Reyes for pitching, keep Murph at 2nd as planned, and sign Eckstein to play short. That would improve professionalism in a number of ways.

Can't argue with that.

Still, Cano is intriguing. The guy can flat hit and is still young.

But he is a slacker and would probably drive me crazy by May.

I say pitching, pitching, pitching. Right now starters are Johan, Maine, Pelf... I'd like a stronger #2 while Maine and Pelf keep improving. And of course a sledgehammer needs to be taken to the whole bullpen. I still say try to get Kaz from Rays for Jose.
