Fun with spreadsheets

Did you know?

That since the Mets torrid offensive April came to a close (therefore, including only May and June, for those of you in Rio Linda), D Wright is leading the Mets in:

Runs (29)
Doubles (14)
HR (13)
Total Bases (113)
RBI (36)
SLG (.579)
OPS (.957)

and tied for the team lead in:

Hits (60) with J. Reyes

I'd be curious to see how he stacks up with the MLB leaders over that span.

Face it, the kid's on fire and everyone else is content to sit around and watch the show.

We need some fire back on this team--hurry back, Endy!

On a side note, can someone please inject Blowenweis with some performance enhancing substances? It's a win-win--if he doesn't get caught, he's gotta end up pitching better on the juice (see: Mota, Guillermo) and if he gets nabbed then we don't have to worry about Willie feeling obligated to put him into games for a third of a season...

Welcome back boys.. Nothing like a 3 game sweep of the Philthies to welcome me back. And nice to see b-tran take advantage of short porches in philly.

I think DC is onto something with his Bloweneweis suggestion - definitely a win-win.

Glad to see Duke back in 2-hole.. I think it will improve lineup on average over long run.

More fun with #s: The mets are now 9th - that's right, NINTH - in the NL in runs scored. That puts them in the LOWER 50% of the NL.

Despite the fact that the Mets will almost certainly win NL East due to the effort of their pitching staff (and more specifically the effort of rick peterson), they are an underwhelming, uninspired, and generally disappointing team to watch thus far this season. I certainly hope they pick up their intensity level in the back half of the season. Or replace rick downs, i hate the way this team bats. Especially with RISP. Especially against rookie pitchers who everyone else dominates BUT the mets. Especially against pitchers with ERAs over 5.00.

Is it time for football yet? It will be tough for anyone to beat Pats this year, but I guarantee one thing - Mangina's Jetties will play their asses off week in and week out.
