Gary Thorne was great. Good hockey guy too. Wonder how he wound up with the O's.
Speaking of which, the Mets radio broadcast has just not been able to find someone to pair with Howie. It's been one dead end after another, and the guy this year doesn't seem much better.
Howie's great, and the TV group is too, so I can't complain too much.
Ojeda is awful in his post-game gig. I'd almost like to see them split up Keith and Ronnie-- one for TV, one for radio. You don't need a 3 man booth. Reality is, tho, Keith probably wouldn't work a 162 game schedule.
If Wally wasn't managing, he might be a guy. I'll tell you a guy who might be able to pull off being a radio guy-- LoDuca. Don't know what he's up to nowadays but his playing career is over, I think.

Got to watch the game the other night--O's share MASN with the Nats.
Un-freaking-believable...
Interesting side note: when I turned on the game, I was very confused to hear an extremely familiar voice--Gary Cohen.
Apparently, he is the play-by-play guy for the Orioles. I had wondered where he had disappeared off to a while back...and now we know the answer.
????
Cohen is still the Mets TV guy.
Crap--meant to write Thorne but was distracted.
Gary Thorne.
Thorne.
Gary.
Stupid...
And the slick-fielding Mike Bordick is his color man.
Mike Bordick. Great mid-season injury replacement. A real life preserver, that guy.
Not.

Totally agree--I have the MLB At Bat app for the iPad so I can listen to any radio broadcast for any team for any game.
So I have been able to listen to a solid number of Mets games via WFAN's streaming signal. The other guy is weak...just like many before him.
Who would be the answer, though? I'm trying to think of a retired guy that has solid ties to the club that would potentially be a good color man...
Piazza? Zeile? Drag Ojeda out of that SNY post-game gig?

Zeile is a good call too.
Wally Whitehurst? Mark Carreon? Benny Agbayani?
Last I saw Paul LoDuca was a horse racing commentator on TVG
Josh Lewin used to do radio fro the O's
And no you can't have David Cone back for any reason...
