Put It In The Books!!!

I am almost without words. Thank you, Johan--you have lifted a terrible burden off of us all. As far as I'm concerned, you earned every single cent of your contract tonight.

So, I watched the first two innings of the game tonight before needing to come home, relive the baby sitter, and then falling asleep!

Wake up at midnight with my Twitter tl off the hizzy.

Sorry I missed it but I'll surely catch the replay tomorrow.

But just so happy for Johan and the whole team. Maybe not the Wilpons, but everyone else.

BTW, Terry Collins is officially my favorite Met. IDK if any of you caught his post-game presser, but it was F*CKING AWESOME. I can't imagine that this is the same guy that the players hated in Anaheim. He's obviously grown so much as a leader since then, and it's encouraging for me to think that we can still be improving at what we do (and as human beings) in our 50s and 60s.

From Rubin at ESPN:

"Friday night, he [Baxter] gave Mets fans a reason to be jubilant, allowing them to celebrate baseball history while he earned himself a place on the team's Mount Rushmore of those who made great defensive catches -- alongside Endy Chavez, Ron Swoboda and Tommie Agee."

I stand corrected. Ehalt at ESPN.

And FWIW, Johan's really a bulldog. Gotta love the guy. No, he's not the pitcher he was in Minny, but he leaves it all out there every start, and as tonight showed, can still get it done at a high, high level.

Dude's an animal. About F'in time mets nailed it!!! I only got to see last inning since they didn't show the game up here, but mlbc cut out Janks-det to show 9th inning live.

And how about that catch by baxter...insane!

And BTW Fredo, I'm still the best mets manager. Ever. For all time.

Just look at the magic I'm doing with the Red Flops right now.

What no-hitter? Beltran's smoker down the line wasn't a hit?
