Well, if the Jets want to make it the SB the road is @Colts, @Pats, and probably @ Steelers or Ravens (I'd guess Steelers but who knows). Certainly a tough road, although we split with Pats, won @Pitt and lost 10-9 to Ravens before our offense got going. Colts are a much weaker team this year, with a lot of players out. That said, I'd probably rather have gone first round against running Chiefs than passing Colts. Our pass D is still highly suspect.
I say we win @Colts, after that it's a crap shoot. AFC is very tough this year.

Excellent, first win in the books. Heavy amount of Greene + LT, and some very nice grabs by Braylon.
Sanchez' shoulder better be in better shape next week to have a shot against Pats. Can't leave wide open TDs to Keller and other passes on the field.
I guarantee this: the game will be much more competitive than people expect. Remember that in the 45-3 blowout the Jets had just lost Leonhard that Friday, their defensive "QB." They've adjusted since then, the O-line got Woody back, and the team seems very focused.
Yeah, and they got Eric Smith back at safety which helps a lot.
Still...
I don't think this game is going to be close, unless the long layoff has their offense out of sync.
what I do know is that the Jets can't continue to play one half of football. Both sides of the ball need to be executing the whole game to have a chance.
Jets should make a major play to pick up Asomugha as a free agent. That could be the greatest CB duo in NFL history.
Now, with regards to Pats, I think the Jets have to rush 5 or 6 to get consistent pressure on Brady, and JAM their receivers at the line. The only way to disrupt their offense is to screw up their quick slants and under routes, and that means hold their receivers at the line. They love quick plays, and if you disrupt the timing and put pressure on Brady you can force some errors.
On offense, the plan should be simple. Some draw plays, some screen passes to LT, some quick slants to Santonio and Keller, and then play action to Braylon deep. Braylon OWNED their short and inexperienced secondary in the first matchup this season; they need to go back to that.
Pats run D is only mediocre (11th in NFL), and their pass D is atrocious (30th in NFL). Bottom line is Jets offense needs to bring their A game and absolutely impose their will on Pats. THERE IS NO EXCUSE for our O-line to not dominate and win point of attack. Mix in some designed Sanchez roll-out plays and Brad Smith wildcat, and we should be able to move the ball on the Pats.
Pats D certainly tightens up in the red zone; they are classic bend but don't break. That's exactly why we need to take some shots at the end zone once we're within 30 yards. Use our advantage: Braylon, Holmes and Keller are all better players than the opposing players on Pats D.
The real wildcard, as always, is whether we have any sort of gameplan to bulk up our very soft middle D, and stop the Pats under routes from burning us.
