AFC playoff predictions

1. Pats 14-2
2. Steelers 13-3
3. San Diego 10-6
4. Indy 10-6 (i think they get tiebreak over 10-6 Jax, but cant tell)
5. Ravens 11-5
6. Jets 11-5

I believe seeding goes divisional and then WCs, not by record, correct?

That would leave the Jets going through, in order, SD, Pitt, and New England (or Indy/Baltimore) to go the SuperBowl. SD will be hot, and looking for revenge from last year. I honestly think we pull the upset and lose in Pitt. The most optimistic, crack pipe smoking possibility, is that Baltimore takes out Indy and N.E., and the Jets play an improbable all W.C. Championship in Baltimore, a rematch of our week 1 squeaker. I think Ravens and Colts both matchup better against NE then any other team in the league, so N.E. can't be too happy if it plays out the way I'm figuring. Tho theyre not too worried about anyone

In reality, I'd be happy with Sanchez having a good game or two in the cold to build on, conitniue making progress, and knowing that QBs usually make a big leap in the league between yrs 2 and 3. Bring back Holmes, add a pass rushing DE and go get a stud NT, and this team could well make noise next year. However, the Pats will continue to pwn for the forseeable future unless someone cuts off Brad's hair.

Jets are unfortunately sloppy and poorly prepared. This is just one example, but when an obvious blitz is coming, it is incumbent on Sanchez to read it and call an audible for a quick play. Not sit on the ball for 10 seconds, then run back 10 yards and take the sack. Sanchez sits on the ball WAYYYYY too long, play after play after play.

This team better emphasize a lot more quick plays like the Pats. Quick slants, quick outs, and screen passes. Get them in the playbook, or continue to get buried.

Also, I am DISGUSTED that on the final drive of the game after the 1st down they spiked the ball. Spiked the ball. Really? Are you telling me that with that much time left, and at midfield, this team does NOT have a one minute drill with set plays? You really are so POORLY coached and prepared that you need to spike the ball? You don't have a pre-set plan for this situation? Pathetic.

My problem with spiking the ball is diff from yours. Great two minute offense teams do it routinely inside of the 2 min warning. My problem is that, after managing 6 points all afternoon, where do you have the confidence that you can waste a down?

Sorry, still having a hard time reading your post. I'm laughing too much b/c you used the phrase 'great two minute offense teams' in a blog about the jets.

On a serious note, is it just me, or do you agree that you and I--coaching after putting down a handle of scotch--could manage to get more points out of an offense that contains Holmes, Braylon, LT, Keller, Cotchery, Greene, and that O line? I don't understand the underperformance of this offense all year. Sure part is maturation of Sanchez, but that can't explain all of it. I think a lot has to fall to Schott, and trying to get too fancy with things. I think Jets talent is greater than most defenses; for the most part we should just line up and beat people straight up.

^^^^^Post nominated for greatness.

Sanchize's body language is atrocious right now. His confidence is shot (Schott?), and I'm worried about it turning into a downward spiral if some positive momentum can't be gained soon.

I agree, this is one of those things where if you don't correct it ASAP, you're done. Just like Jets post-Marino fake spike, or '06/'07 Mets.
