Yankees. Or Phillies.
Yankees. Or Phillies.
I'm going Phillies for 4 reasons.
1. Can't ever pull for the Yanks (unless they're playing BlowSox or Los Bravos)
2. I actually like the Phillies players and attitudes; the Mets could use that.
3. Got to go for NL so I can stop hearing about how much better the AL is.
4. It puts pressure on Wilpon to maybe man up and clean house so his organization doesn't look like the bunch of circus clowns it is in comparison.

I concur on all 4 points, except I can't root for the Yanks under any circumstances (unless they were maybe playing the Nazi/Al Qaeda all-stars--and then it might be a toss-up).
There are guys that I despise on the Phils but they are almost like a family member that you don't like. Gotta stick with the NLE whenever possible...
...the Nazi/Al Qaeda all-stars...
Hmmmm, sounds like the makings of the next MOH video game. I'd like to take out the BFG.
Didn't the baseball season end a couple of weeks ago? Not really sure what you guys are talking about.
Actually, it ended years ago. I think we were discussing strat-o-matic.
Gotta say--this post-season actually bodes well for the Metties.
Holliday's drop caused his fan support in STL to do the same so they may not e so bent on bringing him back.
And the Halos probably figure that if they can't win with Lackey then why should they pay to bring him back?
Add that to Marquis' willingness to join his pal Frenchie in NY and that fulfills everything I would want in this off-season.
But I'm sure Omar will f this up too...
And speaking of F'ing things in a terrible and horrific manner, how about Steve Phillips? That chick was uglier than the Mo Vaughn signing...
...how about Steve Phillips?
Well at least we know now why the Mets could never scout talent.
ba dum, bum
Marquis and Francoeur? Oui oui.
If Holliday can be had at a reasonable price, it might be worth a shot. Left field is the obvious spot where we need an upgrade.
BTW, I sure hope we sign a front line SS. Not that I know anything special, but somehow I'd be shocked if Reyes plays more than 80 games this year.
Luckily, we've got Castillo to step into his role as table setter.
