Mets getting closer to Johan?

According to Buster Olney, action is imminent. He says that Boston is backing away, taking Lester off the table. He also cites this Joel Sherman column, that thinks the Mets are rising as a possible destination because the Twins tried to squeeze too much out of the Sawx and Yanks, both of whom seem to be pulling back from Santana Sweepstakes.

All is not yet lost with this offseason.

Post today (1/28) picks up the FL article claiming that Mets are in the lead. They suggest likely Mets trades would include Humber, Mulvey, Guerra, and Gomez. They think F-mart is off the table. While losing 4 prospects is pricey, I'd say pull on this deal. Santana has at least 5 dominant years left in him, plus it would take enormous pressure off of Pedro, Duque and co.

I'm even more interested in the deal if the rumors that Bedard is going to Seattle are true. (See: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22871543/)
