PLD on "the list"

Lo Duca was among those included in the Mitchell Report, leading one to wonder if Omar knew and that's why he's gone now.

Yeah, saw that. Got no problem with the fact we dumped him.

We already knew about Heredia and Mota, and now Mitchell added a whole bunch of other Mets to the list, with the big names being Dykstra, Hundley and LoDuca.

Additional perps included David Segui, Josias Manzanillo, Matt Franco, Mo Vaughn, Chris Donnels, Todd Pratt, Mike Stanton, Mark Carreon, Paul Byrd, Gary Matthews and Fernando Vina.

I was disappointed to see Dykstra's name on the list. On the one hand, I suppose it is quite likely that half of baseball players (or more) use or have used 'roids; this report is incomplete and a partial list at best. On the other hand, you'd like to think that a guy who stands out and really played hard and went after it was a special player and not just a product of steroids.

Basically, when you see everyone who accomplishes something amazing later found guilty of steroids (floyd landis, marion jones, bonds, mcgwire, ...) you have to be cynical about any great accomplishments. This means do you think of Lance Armstrong as the greatest of all time, or more likely a doper? What about A-Rod? Jordan?
