Mets sign Easley

According to Mets.com, 2b/IF Damon Easley has been inked to a one-year deal worth $850K. The good news? He's cheap. The bad news? He's old. The reason for signing him? Omar says he can "play all over the field."

The only pertinent piece of information? Easley sucks. He's always sucked. He's a coiled up steaming dung pile.

If the Mets want to continue to sign 30-somethings with no skills for 6-figure contracts, please contact this blogger.

You should probably get a better contract than Easley - at least you've never proven that you suck. You're all upside potential!

The Mets need to make a major move. Clearly they were thinking they would get the Japanese pitcher, but now that that's off the table what's next? I say sign Gagne, then package Wagner or Heilman and Milledge for D-train. Florida keeps saying he's off the table, but for the right package I doubt that's true.

Hey D.C., stay out of the market. You're making it harder for the rest of us to land contracts.

Seriously though: Easley, Alou, El Duque? This was the master plan?

I've got to assume Omar's got some surprises coming in the winter meetings.
