“Well, they are going to find out if we are a great team or not, I can tell you that much.”
-Rex Ryan on the Jets/Pats game
Through one half the answer has been pretty clear.

Is it just me or does Eric Smith look exactly like David Patterson?
Losing to the Pats sucks. Watching Shady Brady and Bill Belicheat gloat is horrible.
But watching the effin Pats fans is what really makes me want to impale myself on a stake. They're so douchey.
Well, with 10 days to game plan, I think you can see which coach got it done.
I think when all is said and done, the real indictment on Rex this season will be the soft stretch in the middle of schedule. While the Jets won all but one of those games, the team was obviously content to coast. And instead of Rex taking his team to task, and saying that mediocre efforts were not acceptable, he seemed content to get W's and not force the team to get better.
Coach K can have his boys beat a crappy team by 30 and still find teachable moments. Ryan seems to be happy with the W, and seems to take it as affirmation that everything is O.K.
Pats fans are hands down the biggest d-bags in the world.
Tough 4 game stretch ahead for Jets, you have to wonder if last night's defeat crushes the team or if they bounce back. Not sure exactly about the character of this team. How they play Sunday against Fins will be key to see if they have a shot of making noise in playoffs this year.
#1 thing Jets need is legit pass rusher. Requiring a 6 man blitz to get any pressure on QB is not going to get it done. Most teams have figured out a way to deal with Jets blitz this year, mostly with quick slants, check downs, shovel passes, etc.
#2 is faster safeties. Pats have always liked and will continue to use smaller receivers who move fast. If the Jets ever want to beat Pats twice in a season they will need faster guys to cover Welker, Woodhead, Tate, and Branch.
#3 is for someone to kick Sanchez or Schott in the ass. I don't know who is at fault here, but 90+% of the time Sanchez holds the ball for 4 or more seconds before throwing. THAT IS TOO F'ING LONG. Why don't the Jets have more quick bang-bang plays in their arsenal? With Santonio, Cotchery and Keller this is inexcusable. They need way more quick slants and quick outs. Then Braylon stretch plays are that much more deadly.
Also, PLEASE let brad smith throw the ball from the wildcat once in a while.
Ryan does need to tear some ass this week, but that includes his own for a lousy game plan and prep.
Not to mention, the ONE thing that was working last night was the running game. They should have done more running early on and pounded down Pats D.
And again, I'm left wondering how: (a) Jets made a 37 year old Branch look like an all-star, and (b) Jets yet again failed to capitalize against a lousy pass D. Pats are ranked something like 31st in league in pass D, yet once again Jets O is MIA.
BTW, Ryan had been saying this team was built to play in December and built to beat the Pats.
0 for 2.
I hate to see what happens when they play under conditions they were not built for.
Pats would have to play incredibly un-Pats-like down the stretch to not win AFC at this point. So the road to the SuperBowl goes through them. Fancy playing them again at Foxboro in January? I sure hope the Jets have some pride and man up and fight back the rest of the season.
