I'm not concerned in the least with the Yankees. For the Janks fan, it is (and should be) championship or bust. And since 2000, it's been fails: 11, successes: 1. Mostly I chalk up the fail to having A-Rod around for most of those years.
As a Mets fan, I can't even be bothered worrying about them (except for the 6 head-to-heads) until the WS.
For the Metties, this season has been amazing. They've gotten the max out of what they have. As of a few games ago, they were the only team remotely near the win % they have with such a negative run differential.
They've managed to win the close wins, execute with 2 outs (leading MLB with runs scored w/ 2 outs), etc. Plus lots of nice young talent that's been developing. Not just skill development, but the right hustle habits. Once Ike starts raking and Thole comes back it'll be even better.
